Production of a live stream event to announce the 2021 winner
THE BRIEF
Oscar’s Book Prize is an annual competition to find the best picture book of the year for young children, with the winner receiving £10,000 in memory of Oscar Ashton. Supported by Amazon and the Evening Standard, the organisation works closely with the Centre for Literacy in Primary Education and Read for Good, to promote early reading initiatives.
When the in-person event had to be cancelled due to the COVID-19 pandemic, we were asked to help produce a livestream to announce the winner.
OUR APPROACH
Working closely with the Oscar’s Book Prize team, we assisted in briefing Chairman James Ashton, and judges Viveka Alvestrand, Angellica Bell, Lorraine Kelly, Axel Scheffler, and their Royal Patron HRH Princess Beatrice on how to film their contributions.
We also created trailers showcasing the six shortlisted authors, which were shared across social media platforms leading up to the YouTube live stream.
The event concluded with the premiere of a special reading of the winner’s book, The Littlest Yak by Lu Fraser and Kate Hindley.
This was a complex lockdown project featuring numerous contributors that Digitom succeeded in delivering on time and ahead of specification.
