Production of student ambassador stories
The Kent and Medway Progression Federation (KMPF) is a collaboration of educational institutions that focuses on helping people from different backgrounds reach their potential through a range of services and programs aimed at improving educational outcomes. We were briefed to create a series of films with students who have accessed KMPF services and find out how they progressed to higher education.
Our creative treatment of producing individual self-authored films gave us the opportunity to spend a day with each of the student ambassadors, capturing their stories with two broadcast cameras and prime lenses, combined with scenes of the students in various educational environments.
Scenes were filmed in slow motion, which enabled us to achieve a glossy cinematic look, intercut with additional aerial drone filming where possible. The videos are distributed on YouTube and are used off-line at face-to-face events with schools and community organisations to help share pathways. Shorter cut-downs were also shared across social media channels.
Digitom was able to take our brief and bring our vision to life. They made the film-making process very simple, ensuring our student ambassadors were confident telling their stories.
