Communications Officers and Call Handlers
British Transport Police is the national force for Scotland, England, and Wales, responsible for making sure that the railways are safe and secure for rail operators, their employees, and passengers across the country.
Police staff play a vital role across various functions in the force, including People and Culture, Finance and Commercial to Digital and Technology. We were briefed to create a recruitment film that highlights the roles of Communication Officers and Call Handlers who handle emergencies and support frontline officers, from the Force Control Rooms.
OUR APPROACH
Working closely with the recruitment team, we suggested a fast-paced creative treatment that features self-authored stories from colleagues, offering insight into the roles, interspersed with dramatic reconstructions filmed in a fly-on-the-wall style inside Birmingham’s Control Room.
Distributed on YouTube and embedded on BTP’s website. In addition to the full version, we also provided shorter cut-downs for social media, subtitled in both English and Welsh.
