Good neighbour awards
Nextdoor is a social media platform where communities come together to greet newcomers, exchange recommendations and connect with your neighbours to build happier, safer places for everyone.
The Good Neighbour Awards are an opportunity for people to nominate members of their community, who go above and beyond for their neighbours. We were briefed to create films that share winners’ stories and celebrate their achievements.
OUR APPROACH
Our creative treatment of self-authored films gave us the opportunity to hear from neighbours, and find out how the winners were helping to build a cohesive society.
Travelling across the UK the series highlights a broad range of issues, from neighbours tidying up their communities to support groups helping tackle issues of isolation and loneliness.
2020’s awards were dominated by stories of volunteers and businesses rallying around in the COVID-19 pandemic to cook meals for the vulnerable, manufacture protective face masks for frontline care workers and help neighbours who were shielding with daily tasks.
