Bringing recruitment to life

Horder Healthcare is a leading independent healthcare provider delivering orthopaedic and musculoskeletal care for NHS and private patients across Kent and Sussex.

The challenge

As a charity, their people and values are central to how they operate, and attracting the right staff is critical to maintaining the quality of care they provide.

Traditional job ads were no longer enough to help candidates understand what it genuinely feels like to work at Horder Healthcare, or why the organisation is different from other healthcare employers.

Our brief was to support a new recruitment communications campaign that could cut through a crowded market and speak directly to potential candidates as people, not just applicants.

How we helped

We reworked the original brief and developed a people‑led narrative that allowed Horder Healthcare to show their culture, values and working environment in an honest and human way.

Video became the central communication tool. By giving prospective candidates a clear sense of day‑to‑day life at the organisation, the films helped people imagine themselves working there, before they ever submitted an application.

As a result, video played a meaningful role in boosting applicant rates and differentiating Horder Healthcare from competing employers.

What the client said

“I think storytelling is critical when it comes to recruitment, it’s a way of bringing it alive so that people can actually imagine what it’s like to work for your organisation.

“The videos have made our style of recruitment quite outstanding because it sets us apart from the competition. Nobody else is producing anything to the high standards that we are.”

The outcome

Horder Healthcare came to us after speaking to several other suppliers because they needed a partner who would challenge the brief, not just deliver it. We turned their initial brief upside down and reshaped it into something that resonated immediately.

Our experience in people‑led storytelling, combined with a calm, structured approach, gave their team confidence that the work would stand out for the right reasons.

By focusing on clarity, empathy and real human stories, the recruitment communications felt distinctive, credible and aligned with the charity’s values.
