Thin-joint system

H+H is the UK’s leading manufacturer of aircrete blocks and systems, supporting high construction standards across residential building projects.

The brief

Working with creative communications agency ib3, we produced a 3D construction product animation for H+H’s Thin‑Joint System.

The Learning and Development film was designed to help housebuilders, contractors, colleagues, customers and construction professionals apply the system with confidence, from specification through to on-site delivery, while understanding build sequencing, decision-making and best practice when building a home.

The animation explains the Thin‑Joint System in a clear, accessible way that supports training, product specification and wider understanding across multiple audiences, while reinforcing technical accuracy and authority.

Our approach

We created a voiceover-led 3D animation that guides viewers through the build process step by step, from groundworks to soffits and fascias. This structure makes the content easy to follow for both technical and non-technical audiences.

We worked closely with H+H’s Lead Trainer to understand the system in detail before writing the script and storyboarding the animation. With the process defined, we moved into design, 3D modelling and rigging to build a precise and engaging learning resource.

Setting the build in a neutral virtual environment kept attention on the Thin‑Joint System and established a consistent visual style for future product animations, including content for European markets.

What the client said

“This was my first animation project and it was pretty daunting to begin with.

“Working with the Digitom team made the process so much easier than I imagined; they were patient, focused, professional and above all extremely easy to work with.”

The outcome

The finished film gives H+H a versatile learning resource for customer education, internal training and wider marketing communications.

It helps audiences understand the Thin‑Joint System in a structured, engaging way and supports confident product adoption.

The format also gives a scalable foundation for future product content, helping maintain consistency across markets while strengthening the visibility and authority of its technical expertise.
