CPR – How to save a life

Tonbridge and Tunbridge Wells Community First Responders (TTWCFR) are trained volunteers who provide emergency medical support alongside South East Coast Ambulance Service.

The brief

As part of our corporate social responsibility commitment, we selected TTWCFR as our Charity of the Year, donating our services to help address a critical gap in public understanding of what to do when someone suffers a cardiac arrest.

The brief was to produce a clear, engaging CPR training film that showed how to respond to a cardiac arrest in a public place. It needed to cover CPR, defibrillator use and 999 call support in a way people could follow.

Our approach

We worked closely with the charity and South East Coast Ambulance Service to ensure the scenario was accurate and easy to follow under pressure.

The film follows two bystanders as they respond to an emergency, guided step by step by a SECAmb communications officer over a 999 call. Viewers are shown how to administer CPR, locate a public defibrillator, and continue life-saving support until a Community First Responder and ambulance crew arrive.

The film is narrated by Frankie, a cardiac arrest survivor. Her voice grounds the campaign with lived experience, reinforcing and helps connect the training content and reinforcing the impact of early intervention.

The outcome

The film is shared on South East Coast Ambulance Service’s YouTube channel, and is used by Tonbridge and Tunbridge Wells Community First Responders, as part of their training activity.

The project gives audiences a calm, practical guide to CPR and public defibrillator use. It also shows how video can turn essential information into accessible training content for frontline, healthcare and community organisations.
