Medthority, created by EPG Health, is a trusted digital resource that delivers independent, evidence-based clinical information to healthcare professionals.
The brief
This learning and development project was designed to help General Practitioners start effective smoking cessation conversations using practical, credible approaches grounded in clinical practice.
The focus was on building GP confidence through realistic training examples that reflect the social, emotional, and clinical complexity of everyday consultations, while keeping both the evidence base and human experience at the centre.
Our approach
Working closely with EPG Health, we produced a short learning and development film series built around authentic, people-centred storytelling.
Each film follows a distinct patient scenario shaped by social context, health needs, and personal motivation, showing practical ways to begin smoking cessation conversations in primary care.
Our role was to turn clinical objectives into accurate, engaging narratives that healthcare professionals could recognise and use in practice.
Filmed over two days at EPG Health’s Royal Tunbridge Wells offices, we transformed existing spaces into consultation and waiting room settings, using a temporary studio set-up to maintain a consistent visual identity while keeping production agile and aligned with the brief.

The outcome
The films gave Medthority a flexible learning and development resource that supports GPs in leading smoking cessation conversations with confidence, empathy, and evidence-based insight.
By showing effective consultation techniques in action, the content aligns with how clinicians learn, retain knowledge, and apply best practice in real-world settings – highlighting how we use storytelling to create medical education content that supports behaviour change, strengthens clinical communication and builds trust.
This project was recognised as a finalist at both the Communiqué Awards for Excellence in Professional Education 2021 and Pharmaceutical Market Excellence Awards for Excellence in Healthcare Professional Education and Support 2021.
