Stagecoach is one of the largest bus operators in the country, providing services that connects communities across Kent and East Sussex.
The brief
Like much of the transport sector, Stagecoach relies on a highly skilled workforce and faces ongoing competition to attract and retain drivers, engineers and operational staff.
As part of a people and culture project, they asked us to create a recruitment video campaign that would celebrate its people, promote career opportunities and show the value of public transport in local life.
Our approach
We developed a people-led employer brand campaign built around self-authored Day in the Life films, gathered in an observational documentary style following colleagues across the business and showing what different roles involve day to day.
Released monthly across two series, the films created a steady campaign rhythm and gave audiences time to connect with a broad range of people, career paths and the pride behind Stagecoach’s work in local communities.
By keeping the storytelling natural and grounded, the campaign built trust with potential applicants and presented the organisation as an open, relatable employer.
What the client said
“We’re absolutely thrilled with the impact the series has had.
“The thing we’ve really enjoyed about working with Digitom is the marrying up of corporate values and what matters.”

The outcome
The films became the foundation of a sustained recruitment and awareness campaign, shared across YouTube, Facebook and Instagram with ongoing paid promotion.
In its first 12 months, the campaign generated more than 1.44 million video views. It raised awareness of transport careers and strengthened Stagecoach’s profile as a community-focused public transport employer.
The campaign was shortlisted as a finalist at the Royal Television Society Southern Awards in the Short Form category, and also named a Marketing Finalist at the UK Bus Awards – validating the power of authentic storytelling in transport recruitment.
