Onboarding through animation

South East Local Enterprise Partnership (SELEP) was one of 38 LEPs established to provide strategic leadership and drive private sector-led growth across East Sussex, Essex, Kent, Medway, Southend and Thurrock.

The challenge

When COVID‑19 struck, SELEP faced an immediate learning and development challenge: how to induct and upskill new board members remotely, while government lockdown restrictions made in‑person training impossible.

With a tight deadline and complex governance information to communicate, SELEP needed a solution that could support consistent learning, knowledge retention and confidence among a senior audience — without overwhelming them.

How we helped

We partnered with SELEP to design and deliver a bespoke animated e‑learning module, transforming essential induction content into a clear, engaging and structured learning experience.

Animation allowed us to simplify complex processes, reinforce key messages and create a resource that could be revisited on demand — supporting both immediate onboarding and longer‑term development.

The outcome

The result was a scalable learning and development asset, that enabled SELEP to maintain high standards of governance, ensure knowledge consistency and continue developing board capability during a period of significant disruption.

SELEP chose Digitom because we understand how to turn learning objectives into engaging, outcome‑driven content. Our approach goes beyond delivery – we start by understanding the audience, the learning need and the behavioural outcome required.

By combining strategic thinking with creative execution, we helped SELEP create a future‑proof learning tool that supported leadership development, ensured clarity under pressure and delivered long‑term value.
