The brief
When COVID-19 struck, SELEP faced the challenge of inducting new board members while adhering to government lockdown restrictions that prevented in-person training.
They needed a digital board induction that helped new members understand governance, legislation and their role before formal meetings began.
The brief called for an accessible e-learning module that could be delivered online, support confidence and meet a fixed launch date.
Our approach
Working closely with SELEP’s communications team, we created a voiceover-led learning and development film that turned complex governance content into clear, engaging communication.
Our creative treatment combined character animation, iconography and kinetic typography to bring key messages to life and made detailed information easier to follow. We developed a structured storyboard aligned with their brand and split into clear chapters.
This chapter-led approach helped board members build knowledge step by step, with practical content designed for remote learning.
What the client said
“Digitom understood very quickly the style and tone we were looking for.
“They were able to make suggestions which aided the communication of this complex message, enabling us to continue making important decisions to strengthen our economy and support our communities, when we emerge from the COVID-19 crisis.”

The outcome
The finished learning and development module helped SELEP onboard new board members and run its first online meeting as planned.
It gave members a clear digital induction experience, supporting governance, confidence and informed decision-making across the regional partnership.
Delivered in seven days, the project shows how focused learning content can help public sector and partnership organisations share essential information quickly.
