Faithorn Farrell Timms

City of London School for Girls

Faithorn Farrell Timms is an award-winning surveying and property consultancy specialising in complex commercial, education, and heritage assets.

The brief

We were commissioned to create a case study film and supporting photography to help Faithorn Farrell Timms communicate its ongoing partnership with the City of London School for Girls in the Barbican Estate, showing how it helps owners and public bodies manage risk, compliance, refurbishment, and long-term building performance.

The aim was to highlight the consultancy’s role in delivering refurbishment projects within a Grade II listed school building, balancing heritage conservation, modern learning environments, and the operational needs of a busy Barbican education setting.

Our approach

Our creative approach used people-led storytelling to reflect the realities of working within one of the UK’s most recognisable Brutalist buildings. By moving through refurbished public areas, offices, meeting rooms, and specialist teaching spaces, the film shows how heritage refurbishment can support modern education while preserving the character and integrity of the original design.

Filming took place during the school holidays, when the building was empty, giving us uninterrupted access to the refurbished reception, offices, meeting rooms, and science labs, with time to focus on detail, light, and flow.

The result is a clear, purposeful property consultancy film that demonstrates Faithorn Farrell Timms’ expertise in heritage-led refurbishment, project delivery, and work within sensitive architectural settings.

The outcome

The film gives Faithorn Farrell Timms a credible way to communicate its approach to heritage-led refurbishment, property consultancy, and education sector project delivery.

It supports business development, presentations, and wider marketing by helping prospective clients understand not only what the practice delivers, but how it works across complex listed buildings.

Alongside the film, we produced a set of interior photography documenting the completed refurbishment works at the City of London School for Girls.

These images were supplied for use in bids, reports, trade publications, and property marketing, extending the project’s value beyond the film itself.
