Student ambassadors

The Kent and Medway Progression Federation (KMPF) is a partnership of education providers that helps students from a wide range of backgrounds progress into further and higher education.

The brief

Digitom was commissioned to produce a series of student ambassador video case studies featuring learners who had used KMPF services. The films were designed to communicate real student journeys, widen participation, and support outreach across Kent and Medway.

They highlight individual progression stories and show how targeted support helped each student take the next step towards further or higher education, creating honest, relatable and aspirational content for young people, schools and community organisations.

Our approach

We shaped the creative treatment around self-authored storytelling, giving each student ambassador space to share their experience in their own words and making the films credible, personal and useful for outreach audiences.

Spending a full day with each contributor helped build trust and capture natural moments that reflected real student life. We combined in-depth interviews with observational Slow-motion footage to create a calm cinematic feel, while drone footage grounded each story in place, aspiration and opportunity.

The result was a connected series of progression films with a consistent tone, clear purpose and strong storytelling value.

The outcome

The films give the organisation a flexible library of video assets that demonstrate the real impact of its services through lived experience, helping explain progression pathways and promote access to higher education.

The content is used on YouTube, across social media, and at in-person events with schools and community organisations, extending the reach of its outreach and engagement work.

Together, the student ambassador videos communicate clear higher education pathways, encourage service engagement, and inspire learners to see university and further study as realistic, achievable options.
